Alfa Chemistry Newly Adds Drinking Water Disinfection Byproducts Standards for Water Safety Research

After releasing the chlorinated phenol and resin acid standards last month, Alfa Chemistry announces to further diversify its supply of environmental goods standards by adding a new type — drinking water disinfection byproducts standards , which can be used in the R&D to better drinking water disinfection methods.   Drinking water comes from sources like lakes, rivers, reservoirs, and ground water aquifers, and hence need to be disinfected before consuming by people. However, while disinfectants are added during any part of the water treatment process, a wide variety of disinfection byproducts will be produced, which may pose health concerns for people. “Disinfectants can react with naturally-occurring materials in the water, which result in the formation of byproducts such as THM, HAA, chlorite, and bromate.
