Alfa Chemistry Launches MOF Chemicals for the Science Community
As the fastest growing class of materials in chemistry today, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have become ideal candidates for storage of fuels (hydrogen and methane), capture of carbon dioxide, and catalysis applications as well as many other applications. To meet the increasing market demand accompanying this trend, Alfa Chemistry has recently launched a subsidiary website, which is specially designed for supplying MOF chemicals , COFs linkers , and MOF materials . MOFs are made by linking inorganic and organic units by strong bonds through reticular synthesis. Due to the flexibility and variation of the constituents’ geometry, size, and functionality, there have been more than 20,000 different MOFs reported and studied since the discovery of the first MOF structure in the 1990s. And the number still grows daily. “Up till now, MOFs with permanent porosity are more extensive in their variety and multiplicity than any other class of porous materials,” says a senior scienti...
