PROTAC Technology

What Is PROTAC Technology? Proteolytic targeting chimera (PROTAC) is a new type of drug design technology that works by inducing the degradation of target proteins. Unlike conventional small molecules that typically inhibit protein function, PROTACs facilitate the ubiquitination and subsequent degradation of specific proteins. This bifunctional molecule consists of two distinct elements: a ligand that engages a target protein of interest and a second ligand that recruits the E3 ubiquitin ligase, a component of the ubiquitin-proteasome system responsible for protein tagging for degradation. By linking these two components, PROTACs create a bridge that brings the target protein into proximity with the E3 ligase, leading to its ubiquitination and degradation. Currently, there are more than 160 PROTAC projects under development worldwide, of which nearly 20 projects are in clinical development. These projects involve a variety of disease targets, including cancer, inflammation, and n...

Effects of Plant Extracts in Cosmetics

In cosmetics, the application of plant extracts has been particularly popular because of their various advantages and natural nature. Plant Extracts for Moisturizing Skincare relies upon moisturization, and plant extracts are the stepping stones to that. Plant extracts also have hydroxyl groups in the polysaccharides and glycosides that keep water inside them with hydrogen bonds. The majority of plant polysaccharides are hygroscopic like aloe polysaccharides which are the active constituents of aloe extracts and are used in cosmetics as moisturizing raw materials. Moreover, the majority of water-soluble plant polysaccharides like cactus polysaccharides, astragalus polysaccharides, schizonepeta polysaccharides and dendrobium officinale polysaccharides absorb water well. Plant Extracts for Barrier Repairing Barrier repair agents help in building the skin barrier function and skin health during the skin care. Phytoelements such as licorice root, green tea, chamomile etc help to repair and...

Resin Bond Diamond

The resin bond diamond (RBD) is mutil-stalline diamond superhard abrasive specially produced for resin bond abrasives, which is composed of many subcrystals with embedded structure. In most cases, the resin binder system is phenolic resin or polyimide resin. In special cases, special resin binder and suitable additives may be used make the resin bond diamond more widely applicable. Resin bond diamond has irregular crystal shape, rough surface, excellent brittleness and excellent self-sharpening. Characteristics The excellent quality of high grinding efficiency, long life and high finish provides the best performance for resin bond abrasives, the details are as follows: Extremely high grinding efficiency and abrasive utilization : Under a certain grinding force, multicrystal particles are easy to fracture along the interface between subgrains. After the small abrasive subgrains are separated from the crystal particles, the new irregular shape subgrains form sharp edge angles on the cry...
